    Hi
I will be driving from Ocala , fl. to see labs.
Could you send pics of labs To me beforehand?
    Thank you

    • Joanne Pecina says

      Hello Laurey,
You are welcome to check out AVAILABLE DOGS on our website. Also, our next adoption isn’t until the end of February. We do not have a shelter or place for you to see all of the dogs, so you may need to drive back for the actual adoption.

      Thank you!

  • Sheila Gillespie says

Will all of your dogs listed on the website be at the Adoption event?
Thank you! Sheila Gillespie, Kennesaw GA

    • Joanne Pecina says

      Hi Sheila,

That isn’t likely. We use foster homes all over the Atlanta metro and boarding facilities to home all of the dogs in our program. If you are interested, please go to our website under “How to Adopt”. There you will find instructions on our adoption process. Your adoption coordinator can many times make arrangements for desired dogs to be at an event.

      Thank you

I’m interested in Coopet. It could not make the event. Is he still available?

    • Joanne Pecina says

      Hello Diane,
Both Coopers are still listed on our website however two things – I know we have received many applications already for the chocolate Cooper and the website can change daily. If you are interested in adopting a dog from ALR, you need to complete the application and then start working with one of our adoption coordinators.

      Thank you!

We completed our application tonight! We would love for Logan to be a part of our family. Labradors and Westies have been a special part of our family. We would like to open our home to seniors so that their remaining days filled with love.

    • Joanne Pecina says

Thank you for your application. One of our volunteers will be in touch with you!

Is Logan still available and will he be at your event tomorrow?

    • Joanne Pecina says

      Hi,
Logan is still listed on our website, so he should still be available. However please keep in mind that our adoptions are fluid. If you haven’t done so, you should complete an application and then an adoption coordinator will contact you and provide more information about Logan. He will be at the adoption tomorrow.

      Thank you!

I am interested in Rocky Road. Is he still available?

    • Joanne Pecina says

      Hello,
He is still on our website so he is likely still available. Adoptions are very fluid, so if you have not yet completed an application, you should do so. Then an adoption coordinator will be in touch with you.

      Thank you –

  • Joanne Pecina says

Hello Jeanette, That is great that you filled out an application. We are an all volunteer organization and now that we have your application, an adoption coordinator will be in touch with you. This can take between 7 and 10 days depending on volume and as mentioned, because we are an all volunteer rescue. Please be patient and one of our volunteers will be in touch.

  • Linda Vidales says

Hi, I am interested in Yeller and would like to know if he will be at your April 30th event. I tried to call the phone number on your website but it is not a working number. Is there another number I can call to speak to someone from your Rescue? My number is 210-885-8596. Can someone give me a call please?

    • Joanne Pecina says

      Hello Linda,
Yeller is still on our site so he is likely still available. That said, we are all volunteer and it is possible that someone with an application is already looking at him. For our adoptions, we bring in dogs from fosters and boarding, so depending on their ability to bring the dogs to the event and our volunteers ability to drive dogs to the adoption, I cannot say for sure if he will be there. Our adoption process is outlined on our website. Once you provide an application, a volunteer adoption coordinator will be in contact with you to discuss dogs you have interest in and if they would be a good fit. This is how we work, as we get many applications for our dogs and we need to have a process for reviewing applicants. I would suggest putting in your application so you can then speak to a volunteer. Please understand that we are an Atlanta based rescue and do not transport our dogs out of state.

      Thank you.

      • Linda Vidales says

I live in Augusta so would not need out of state transport. If I apply for adoption and the particular pup that I expressed interest in is unavailable will my application fee be good to use for another pup?

        • Joanne Pecina says

          Hi Linda,
Absolutely! We do try and match the dogs for the best situations and families. Generally, we have about 20 dogs at the adoption events. We are bringing in dogs all the time, sadly. Your application fee is good for a successful adoption of one of our dogs. Connecting with one of our adoption volunteers is the best because they are aware of where in the process all of the dogs are at this time.

          Thank you –

  • Karen Jaworski says

Do you post a list of the dogs that will be at the adoption events beforehand? We have completed an application and wanted to see more than one of the dogs from your website.

    • Joanne Pecina says

      Hi,
Great question! We try to get as many dogs to the event as possible. We are all volunteer and depend on our volunteers and others to transport the dogs to and from the adoption. If you have put in an application, your adoption coordinator can likely let you know if the dogs you are interested in will be there. We usually have about 20 dogs or more at the adoptions.

      Thank you!

  • Ezra says

My wife and I are interested in Spruce and possibly a few others. Is there a way to come see the dogs this week or do we have to wait until the adoption day? I think we applied already but haven’t heard from anyone yet.

    Thanks

    • Joanne Pecina says

Hello Ezra, Spruce has actually been adopted. However there are many more dogs on our site and many more to be posted. I checked, and we don’t see an application from you for our rescue. Please be sure you submitted your application to Atlanta Lab Rescue. Once you do, you will receive a call from a coordinator generally within a week. We are an all volunteer group.

      Thank you!
