Roger

Hound - Labrador Retriever - Young - Male
Adopted Medium Spayed/NeuteredUp-to-date with routine shotshousetrained

Roger Dodger is certainly a good name for this lucky pup who truly dodged certain death when someone found him along the side of the road starving and took him to a vet in town. Rarely do vets go out on a limb for dogs like this, but this vet did. However, the Memorial weekend was approaching and there would be no kennel space left for him so they asked if we might take him.

We were so lucky to find a foster for him and she has done an amazing job of nursing him back to health. As a result of the malnutrition (and being eaten alive by fleas), he had a horrible skin condition that required a daily bath and several months of special care. Two vets suggested that we euthanize him but the foster refused to give up. He is looking and feeling so much better now and his future is bright.

Roger is a great dog! Wonderful with dogs big or small and great with cats too. He is well-mannered in the house and loves to hang out in the yard. If you are interested in adopting Roger, you can fill out an application at www.atlantalabrescue.com .
