My neighbor is abusing their lab.. He is always tied up out side and barks all day. When someone is home, they hit and scream at him. I talked
to the owner and they want to get rid of the dog. Please help! This is so sad.. He breaks free and animal control comes and does nothing.

    • Joanne Pecina says

Your neighbor would need to contact a rescue group to ask about re-homing the dogs. We cannot intervene. Animal Control should be called when you see abuse taking place. Eventually, they will call the police and action will be taken.
      Thank you.

Hello, I live very rural on a one lane dirt road. We constantly have animals dropped out here. Recently we have taken in a very beautiful well behaved female lab / retrevior. We have kept in touch with animal control in the 2 closest counties and listed her on face book and missing pets web pages for our area. No luck. She is house trained and knows basic commands. She loves children and is drawn to them. She loves a crate, and submits to other dogs. She is not cat aggressive at all. I have 4 dogs already which puts me at our county legal limit for my property size. She is a beautiful dog. She is black and flea and tick free. We would love to find her a really good home. She has definitely been a house dog. She is very happy on a bed of sofa and never messes the house. Can we please get some help to find this sweet baby a home. We are not working currently due to covid 19 so money is insanely tight. Extra vet cost, flea meds and food is something we had not intended. We have 3 boxers and a Rescued Jack Russell. Also 2 cats. Any help with placement would be so appreciated.

Hello and thanks for your email. First, our rescue is full, actually overcapacity. That said, feel free to email information and pictures to info@atlantalabrescue.com as an owner surrender. Also, there are pet food kitchens, such as Daffy’s which can help with food needs at a low cost. There are also other Lab rescue groups that might be in a positoin to help out. Thank you and I hope you are successful to find her a home, as the shelters can’t keep all of the dogs they take in. Be sure to check for a microchip as well.
      Thanks again.

    • Do you still have the lab? We have an aging miniature Applehead Chihuahua and are looking for a younger female as a companion and also as a successor to “Cricket.” We have a large fenced yard and only the one pet. I’m a retired school superintendent and have previously rescued dogs, both individually and also through a rescue agency (having been vetted.)

Hello and thank you for your inquiry. Please review our website for current dogs that are available for adoption. NOTE, our process is very fluid and dogs are added to the website all the time. Also, they are removed once adopted. If you are interested in adopting, then please complete an application and pay the app fee. Once those two steps are complete, one of our adoption coordinators will contact you. We are running behind schedule due to high volume of inquiries and adoption applications.

        Thank you.

I lost my lab mix 3 weeks ago this past Wednesday. My husband forwarded a picture of Willow and I was wondering if she was available. We have 5 pups – 3 seniors, two crazy younger terriers, and a cat who have all had rough starts (abused, neglected, dumped, mange, heart worms, tumors, rejected runts) Rough starts are our game. We love these babies even more and we would like the opportunity to love Willow too, mange and all! I’ll get her healthy and bond at the same time. I can foster and adopt if that’s preferred. Please let me know. Thank you for your time.

Looking to see if this Rescue group will save a frightened 9 year old Lab that was surrendered by owners because he growled at a visiting toddler at his home.
I shared it on my Facebook page is hopes that someone would know how to get help for him. He is in an animal shelter in Blueridge, GA as a rescue only!
I have to find help for him,, my heart is hurting for him Because he was betrayed by those that he loved and trusted all of his life. I feel that I have to find him someone to Help him.

    • Joanne Pecina says

Hello and thank you for your email. Our rescue, like many, is very full however we consider all request to us for Owner Surrender situations. If a dog is at a shelter,
we may have received a post about it. If you like, feel free to send information to us at info@atlantalabrescue.com and we can then see if we can help.

      Thank you.

Adoption Needed!! We found this good boy in our neighborhood back in March, when the social distancing started and have been hoping/fostering him but no one has come forward to claim him. He was estimated to be about 6-7 months at the time and had not been neutered (probably too young/not urgent) but we scheduled it/got it taken care of after he had been with us for 4 weeks. We never planned on him for our home and though he is a very good boy, he needs a permanent and loving home. He is dog/cat/people friendly (we have 3 cats and 1 elderly dog) and integrated with no trouble. He is currently 8(ish) months old and less than 40lbs. He seems to still need some socialization but that has been difficult with the current times. Augusta, Ga area.

Hello and thank you for your email. Our rescue, like many, are at the max. Also, we don’t operate much in your area of the state. I would suggest contacting rescue groups that are closer to your location, albeit SC, GA or Northern Florida. You are welcome to submit an owner surrender form to us, however we can’t provide transport from August to Atlanta even if we have room. Again, I’d check other local groups and feel free to go to our website or email us at info@atlantalabrescue.com and request an owner surrender form.
Thank you for stepping up to help out.
